3 Foundations to Building A Brand People Believe In

As I opened my second gym years ago, I reached out to Mark Freid for assistance with brand refinement and marketing.

He brought me clarity about my brand promises and how to think creatively.

Mark is the founder of Think Creative Inc., where they help business owners build brands that people believe in.

And he shared is top 3 foundational tips for doing so!

1.) Make Every Decision Based Out Of Love

Every decision you make is based off of one of these two things…

…it’s either based out of fear….

…or it’s based out of love.

You want to make sure that you’re making decisions out of love and the excitement of the opportunity.

Examine internally the ‘why’ behind your decision.

At the beginning of the pandemic, some businesses retreated and took a step back out of fear, leaving their customers hanging.

Take this as a less for what not to do.

React to these adverse situations with love and your customer’s wellbeing as your priority.

2.) Support and Appreciate Your Staff

Support to your staff in will ignite more passion and contribution to your team.

This is support for personal growth, not exclusively professional growth.

For example, it’s standard practice for Mark to give his staff a 40 hour sabbatical to pursue something they are passionate about.

Could be learning how to play the guitar or studying a language.

All Mark asks is that his employees come back and share what they learned in their week.

Happiness leads to productivity and fulfillment.

3.) Think Creatively

This is done best when you’re surrounded by people that you can bounce ideas off of.

Share your ideas and story to see what resonates most with people.

These are the ones that you should move forward with.

You’ll come up with new ideas and insight that you’ve never thought of before!

Mark covers these tips in depth, and more, on Episode 30 of the Level Up Your Gym Podcast, “3 Foundations to Building A Brand People Believe In – A Conversation with Mark Freid” .
